We have arrived in orbit of Terra. From the views of land and ocean it already doesn't resemble what we've known as our home. We have been sending sub-ether signals to all the bases on the planet as well as the two subterranean bases that were maintained in case of invasion or extreme attacks. None have been returned, not even a cursory blip to let us know they have been received. We are cloaked until we receive something back from the Alliance forces. Our cleric has gone into his Trance of Aeons which is supposed to allow him to contact other clerics via the astral plane. He claims command over and ability to travel on this plane, so who are we to argue. Perhaps when this mission concludes and all the journals are released, we will know what his trances are and what they have revealed. Even as captain under the hierarchy, I never had the nerve to ask too many questions about his spiritual journeys and the ways of clerics.
We will continue to emit our signal in hopes of return, but it appears doubtful. There are a few small probes in the orbit at various degrees and angles according to our science officer, but none of them bear the sigils or glyphs of the Alliance nor do they respond to sub-ether frequency either high or low wave. By tomorrow our recon and observation should give us some perspective on this Terra and its differences from the Terra we knew a forever ago.
